McAlpin Industries named #21 Fastest Growing Private Company by The Rochester Business Alliance
On November 1st, McAlpin Industries was honored by the Rochester Business Alliance as one of Rochester’s fastest growing private companies. We placed 21st out of the hundreds of nominated companies and celebrated at a luncheon at the Rochester Convention Center attended by over 2000 people.

The Rochester Tooling and Machining Association (RTMA) sponsored TV commercials with News Channel 10 to promote manufacturing jobs in Rochester. Commercials spotlighting McAlpin Industries aired October 15th through October 21st.

New York Governor Spitzer Visits McAlpin Industries
On Wednesday August 1, Governor Eliot Spitzer, Mayor Bob Duffy and Upstate Development Director, Dan Gunderson visited McAlpin Industries and toured our facilities. The Governor was very impressed with the cleanliness of the plant and the wide range of products that we produce. Governor Spitzer also held a press conference where he announced a financial incentive package to help McAlpin Industries retain and grow jobs here in New York State.

Brooks Announces July Business of the Month
Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that McAlpin
Industries has been selected as Monroe County’s “Business of the Month” for
July and will be featured on Monroe County’s website, monroecounty.gov.
Brooks launched the online “Business of the Month” feature last year, in an
effort to recognize and promote local companies that are retaining and creating
jobs, and investing in the community.
County Executive Maggie Brooks recently visited McAlpin Industries for a tour,
and visited with company officials. They discussed the availability of local jobs
in precision manufacturing and metalworking, and the importance of
promoting these career opportunities, especially among young people.
“I thank McAlpin Industries for its commitment to retaining local jobs and doing
business in Monroe County,” said Brooks. “McAlpin Industries and I agree that
it’s important for the community to know there are jobs available here and we
need to continue to bolster our efforts to promote our many economic strengths
and opportunities.”
McAlpin Industries, located at 255 Hollenbeck Street in the City of Rochester,
is a second generation family business that employs 200 people. Brothers Ken
and Mike McAlpin are the co-owners. Ken is President/CEO and Mike is
Executive Vice President.

McAlpin awarded the Gold Award for 100% Environmental Compliance
Monroe County Pure Waters and the New York Water Environment Association, the Genesee Chapter of the Industrial Issues Committee, yesterday, awarded McAlpin Industries, the Gold Award for 100% environmental compliance to pretreatment permit standards in the calendar year of 2003. The Gold award is given to recognize companies that are 100% compliant in the past year to federal, state, and county government water regulations regarding water purification and water treatment requirements. The Silver is awarded to recognize 99% compliance. McAlpin Industries, is in very good company. This year, three Gold awards were given and two Silver awards. The other companies receiving awards were:
Gold: Delphi Corp. & Gleason Works
Silver: Xerox Corp. & Atofina Chemicals
Jon Chernak, Donna Mandell, and Alton Burrows were on hand to accept the award. McAlpin Industries Inc. would like to recognize and thank Mike Pitt and Alton Burrows from Waste Treatment for always doing a great job at keeping us 100% compliant!

Mike McAlpin Chosen as Recipient of "40 Under 40" Award
Rochester, NY - Mike McAlpin, Executive Vice President of McAlpin Industries, has been selected as one of the recipients of the 1999 Forty Under Forty awards. These awards honor forty Rochester professionals under the age of 40 for service to both their employers and to the community at large.
McAlpin holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and is Certified in Production and Inventory Management through APICS. He resides in the city of Rochester with his wife and two children.
McAlpin and 39 others were selected from a group of nearly 200 nominees. His community involvement on both local and national levels includes being Chairman of APICS Small Manufacturing Specific Industry Group, a member of his parish's Finance Committee, Past President and 7-Year Board Member of APICS Rochester Chapter, and a former board member of High Technology of Rochester, Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

McAlpin Industries continues to grow, GROW, GROW! In 1999, we expanded our facility to 140,000 square feet, nearly double the capacity we started with when we moved to our Hollenbeck Street headquarters. With this added manufacturing space, we have more room for our quality systems, process controls, engineering systems, service departments, and state-of-the-art equipment.
